I have taught art locally for some years and enjoy helping groups or individuals to enjoy drawing and painting with different art materials.Learn how to handle various media with tips on preparation and materials to develop your preferred colour palette and your own style.
Learn about the importance of composition and how to interpret a subject from life or from photographs. Enjoy experimenting with mixed media where other materials can be used with watercolour to add exciting effects to your pictures.
I place great importance in helping you to discover your inner artist by helping you find what suits your style. Getting the basics right will help you have confidence with the medium so that you feel you are developing your skills and most important of all enjoying yourself. I offer individual tuition, small groups and classes and taster sessions.
Tea and Coffee are available in the studio.

'Taster' Art Workshops
These two hour workshops will give you the opportunity to try out different art mediums to see if you like them before investing any money! These sessions include all the materials you need to have a proper try.
Bring your own if you have them as well as an object or photograph that you would like to try to capture on paper if you wish. Classes last 2 hours and cost £15 per session. Having fun is at the top of the agenda!

Drawing with Graphite, Ink & Charcoal
Learn about the many types of graphite pencils from sketching and coloured pencils to watercolour pencils. Try out line drawing pens and how to add a splash of colour - create a design for a greetings card or bookmark.
Create a 'stay wet' palette and learn about the versatility of this great medium and its many different applications.
Try out hard, soft and oil pastels. Try with different paper surfaces that can be used to create vibrant pictures. See how pastels can enhance paintings.
An introduction to the use of this lovely medium - try our different types of brushes and papers along with colour to see the different effects that can be achieved. A great introduction to our fortnightly watercolour sessions.
Materials are provided for taster workshops but you are welcome to bring your own.
